Forgotten City is an ongoing retroactive homecoming for me. After being removed from my southern roots and then returning for an extended period of time I quickly realized I grew up "blind". While the city, Macon, is undergoing numerous attempts of urban revitalization there is still a lingering spirit that harkens back to post-reconstruction era America. It feels as if the city is trying to rebirth itself but to no avail. This series is a documentation of what my eyes see as I drive around my hometown wide-eyed as a young man. The titles represent either the first emotion or memory associated with each place.
